Cumbria Neighbourhood Watch Annual General Meeting - 31 October - Brampton Community Centre |
||
I am pleased to announce that this year, Cumbria Neighbourhood Watch Association will be holding our Annual General Meeting at Brampton Community Centre on Friday 31 October at 2 pm. The theme for the meeting will be the Digital Switchover and I am delighted to welcome Julie Minns MP as our guest speaker along with David Allen our Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.
Julie has been involved, along with other County Labour MP’s, bringing together stakeholders that have a vested interest in the Digital Switchover which takes effect at the beginning of 2027. We have already carried out quite a bit of work in the County as part of a BT Project to inform communities and as a result we have highlighted a number of issues that are likely to impact on rural communities. This is a real opportunity to listen to Julie and ask questions as well.
High Sheriff Award This is a Cumbria Neighbourhood Watch Association Award to recognise a group or individual that has made a difference to their community and that could include something that has an impact on the environment as well.
Each year we receive nominations for this award all of which provide a real insight about the work and effort that groups and individuals do in their communities.
In recent years we have arranged to have this award presented to the winner in their own town/village, likewise commendations are also made in a similar event. All presentations have been made by the High Sheriff
The impact of these awards has been incredible with many people from the respective communities attending and joining in the celebration to honour the winner and those receiving Commendations.
You can nominate anyone or group with details of their work and forward it either by reply to this communication or alternatively to cumbrianwa@aol.com
I look forward to hearing about the excellent and tireless work that is carried out in Cumbria. Kind regards Joe Murray QPM | ||
